Once Jeff made a date out of taking me to Bass Pro Shop - we spent a few hours in there getting ready for fishing season on our neighborhood Lake, then had dinner in their World Famous Islamorada Fish Company restaurant :)

Cabela's In Hammond, Indiana !

Entrance To Cabelas in Hammond INDIANA This week we spent a few hours exploring Cabela's in Hammond, Indiana.

If you are like me and been around Hammond IN for awhile ( I am a Bishop Noll High School Graduate ), you will know that Cabela's sit on the property that once was the Woodmar Golf Course ( google maps hasn't changed yet - so thie link above confirms this :)

 

We enjoyed exploring this HUGE facility, shopping for some out wear, & learning alot also. The museum like education displays on fish and animals were incredible. We had fun in the arcades. Jeff even tried a Buffalo Burger for lunch at their restaurant and I bought some FRESH Homemade Fudge from their General store!

 

From Fishing to Camping to Hunting To anything Outdoors-> i.e. mens & womens clothing, equipment, FOOD, Cabelas  just about Has it all!

I can tell you that we will be back again to check out the deals in their Bargain Cave!  animals on display in Cabelas

Family Fun in NW Indiana - Valpo has a Drive-in Movie Theatre !

49 er Drive in Movie Theatre in Valparaiso, IN 46383 We've passed it showing homes in Valpo hundreds of times over the last decade.

Recently,our nephew came to visit (and we had unseasonably cool drizzly weather)...so we decided to go to the

49 er Drive-in Theatre located @ 675 North Calumet Avenue in Valparaiso, IN 46383

This night brought back some of fond childhood memories of our family spending time together at a venue like this....i.e.- getting there early to get a front row parking spot, visiting the concession stand for popcorn & snacks, bringing a blanket or lawn chair to lounge on, throwing around the football in the grassy field while we waited for dusk, etc...

What's even better - they have their own FM radio station 88.5 and you don't have to put those old speakers in Valparaiso Indiana Family Attractionsyour car anymore

LOL !                                                                               

 This is still a great way to enjoy a summer nite in NW Indiana!
