Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizzeria, A Hidden Gem in La Porte County Indiana's Michiana Shores !

Friday we were busy with appointments with existing clients, showings on our properties, and our local REALTOR Board is undergoing a total Lock Box exchange to update the existing ones to ones with the newest blue tooth technology.

With Listings For Sale in Lake, Porter and La Porte County this was a long, yet fun day. Great to talk to all our clients, beautifully sunny so we took new, Non Snow pictures to update our MLS.

 Finally, we ended up in La Porte County with the sun setting over Lake Michigan and we were both hungry!

I pulled out my HTC evo and Google searched pizza locations nearby and up came a restaurant's website that sounded yummy!

Since it was busy and already dark when we were seated, here are some daytime photos of this hot spot for the locals that is definitely worth a repeat visit IMHO :)

The freshly prepared soup of the day, appetizer, oven fired pizza with our favorite toppings (we chose the stone ground wheat dough crust) and dessert (bananas with cinnamon & spices baked in the wood fired oven topped with vanilla Gelato) was all delicious! The wine selection was excellent as well. Can't wait to go back!

On the Kankakee River in NW Indiana Between Hebron & DeMotte - Marti's Place @ Ramseys Landing!

In our Indiana Travels, between Hebron and DeMotte there's a Restaurant and Bar located right on the Kankakee River called Marti's Place at Ramsey's Landing that has been around for many years.

I asked Jeff to stop the other day on the way home from Indy...(I had a taste for some catfish and a beer :)

The menu has a wide variety, but for some reason, I always choose the catch of the day or catfish.

It was windy, so we ate inside (outside seating is also available) but the wall of windows overlooking the river provided great views!

Valparaiso, IN - Strongbow Restaurant celebrates 69th year in business with 69 cents meal deal in May !

Valparaiso Indiana Restaurants - Strongbow Inn SignAn iconic spot for the best Turkey dinners in Northwest Indiana! The Strongbow Inn sign can be seen on the North Side of Route 30 if you are traveling east through Valparaiso, IN right before you reach RT. 49.

Jeff's grandparents even remember this famous turkey restaurant in their Indiana Travels from Chicago to Muncie back in the day when they were newlyweds! 

Last week, Jeff & I had dinner there and this menu insert told of the special for the Month of May to celebrate 69 years in business! I asked the manager for a copy for our BLOG and he gladly provided it.

 

The Turkey was fabulous, and I ended up being a cheap date as the second meal was only 69 cents! 

A portion of the proceeds of the meals were even donated to the Valparaiso Boys & Girls Club - a worthy cause!

If you are traveling through Valparaiso, be sure to stop for lunch or dinner and try the Feast with a Friend Anniversary special this month.

We will definitely go back before May is over :)
