Grace & Jeff,

Withe the number of short sales on the market it makes sense to know how to do them and do them efficiently.  Good points here.  Mary

Hi Grace, Happy New Year to you and Jeff. Very good points - All are true and I especially agree with the point on Realtors being tenacious!

I was so hopeful when the sellers agent told me this short sale would go fast, because I had not experience that before. Well this was anything but fast. It took the normal 3-4 months. I know I should be grateful some take even longer.

Thanks Mary - we are selective upfront on which listings we take - we cannot make some of them happen (i.e. 3 loans, home in poor condition, uncooperative sellers, etc..) so when we do list one - the homework and footwork has begun for hopefully a smoother transaction.

Hello Mike - this business requires tenacity :) for sure! Thanks for stoppiong by - have an awesome 2010!

Hello Mandy, 13 weeks is our longest 26 days our shortest - most fall somewhere in between. Sometimes there are obstacles that surface that are unforseen - we feel just as bad relaying the news to a buyer agent when glitches happen - but it's not like working with a typical seller - it's working with a bureacracy that has to have each box on a long list with a checkmark in place before approval and sometimes they can't think Out of the box so to speak so we need time to escalate things to work through issues :)

thanks to all for taking time to comment.

Sincerely,

Grace

Grace--I had the same policy when I was managing an office.  Thanks for the post.
